Thromboaspiration in patients with ST-elevation is being questioned while in patients without elevation this strategy has not been studied. The study included 440 patients with non ST-elevation AMI and presence of thrombus randomized to receive or not thromboaspiration. The primary study end point was the extent of microvascular obstruction assessed by magnetic resonance imaging. No differences were observed between the two strategies nor in the general population or subgroup study (using glycoprotein inhibitors, myocardial areas at risk, amount of thrombus).
