Cuba Sessions: Call for Case Submissions for “Young Interventional Cardiologists”

SOLACI Sessions: 29th Meeting
11th Central America and the Caribbean Regional Meeting

To be held on April 6, 7 and 8, 2016, in Habana, Cuba.

Submit your Clinical Cases: “Promoting Hemodynamics among Young Cardiologists”

We hereby invite the young Latin American cardiologists specialized in Hemodynamics to submit clinical cases of their choice to the next SOLACI Sessions – Cuba 2016, to be held on April 6, 7 and 8 de Abril 2016.

Participants will be competing for the ´Best Case´ award, which consists of an invitation to SOLACI 2016 annual meeting, to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: plane ticket, accommodation and registration.

All cases must be relevant to the field of interventional cardiology and have educational value.

Cases shall be assessed by an evaluation committee, and the best will be presented orally during our Sessions. During these presentations, a second complementary evaluation will choose a winner.  Submission deadline is March 7, 2016. The listed cases will be published on March 9, 2016, on SOLACI website.

Submission criteria and specifications:

    • Case presentation is meant for young Latin American cardiologists (residents or “fellows”) and the topics include: interventionism in adults, heart, structural and vascular peripheral.
    • Each case shall be signed by only one interventional cardiologist. No need to be a “Cardiology or Interventional Cardiology resident or fellow”
    • Attach a letter of recommendation from the head of department or head of hemodynamics you belong to.
    • Send a Word file with the case description, no longer than 300 words, formatted in any font, size 11.
    • Send a complementary PowerPoint file with the case presentation. Even though videos are accepted (no more than 5) for oral presentations at the sessions, this initial Power Point file will include no more than 5 fixed images.
    • One cardiologist can present more than one case. Given this scenario, they shall send them separately, one at a time.
    • IMPORTANT: at the time of presentation, contestants must be registered at the Sessions. Those submitting cases shall have a preferential fee.
