The Latin American Society of Interventional Cardiology successfully relaunched its SOLidario program, practicing the implantation of an aortic valve catheter (TAVI) in the Instituto de Angiografía de Occidente at Cali. It was during the XXIV SOLACI Conference edition held on October 30 and 31 in Colombia.

SOLACI understands the need to develop a social responsibility program to concentrate efforts, human and financial resources to provide the best cardiovascular interventionism to the neediest population.

The SOLidario SOLACI program is a facilitator between the patient, the institution, the local scientific society and the medical specialist providers with local business in each country for the adequate supply of all items, medicines and /or endovascular devices designed to a successful procedure.

Developed by a group of interventional cardiologists for adult and pediatric members of SOLACI, the SOLidario program seeks to facilitate the realization of cardiovascular diagnostic and therapeutic percutaneous procedures to patients without financial resources or without coverage for some medical security system in Latin America and Caribbean at highly renowned centers and by medical specialists members of SOLACI.
