Jornadas held a new scientific session at SOLACI-SOCIME 2025

During the SOLACI-SOCIME 2025 Congress, the largest interventional cardiology event in Latin America, a notable scientific session was held, organized by the Jornadas SOLACI area, focused on the management of complex coronary artery disease. The session addressed key clinical and therapeutic aspects in the treatment of this type of disease and featured high-level speakers who shared their expertise and knowledge.

Jornadas SOLACI-SOCIME 2025

The session was coordinated by Ricardo Coloma (Peru) and included contributions from prominent specialists such as Gustavo Vignolo and Pablo Vázquez (Uruguay).

The program began with Erick Hornez (Bolivia), who presented Management of Left Main Coronary Artery Lesions: How Much Have We Learned?, updating the audience on the most effective strategies for treating these highly complex lesions. Next, Pedro Hidalgo (Venezuela) addressed Management of Calcified Lesions: What Tools Do We Have Today?, delving into the latest approaches and devices for treating calcified coronary artery lesions. Sebastián Lluberas (Uruguay) then presented The Drug-Coated Balloon and Its Current Indications, highlighting advancements in the use of drug-coated balloons and their applicability in coronary intervention.

The next presentation, by Gustavo Hidalgo (Ecuador), focused on Revascularization of Chronic Total Occlusions, outlining the most effective techniques for treating severe blockages in the coronary arteries. Finally, Pablo Vázquez (Uruguay) presented a Clinical Case, detailing a real-life challenge in the treatment of complex coronary artery disease, followed by an in-depth analysis of its resolution.

The session concluded with a discussion period, where the speakers exchanged insights and answered audience questions, reinforcing dialogue around the advances and challenges in the treatment of complex coronary artery disease.

This meeting highlighted the academic quality of the SOLACI-SOCIME 2025 Congress and reaffirmed the commitment of the Jornadas SOLACI area to continuing medical education and the ongoing development of healthcare professionals in interventional cardiology across Latin America.
