FAVOR: Diagnostic Accuracy of FFR derived from coronary angiography, the QFR

Original Title: Diagnostic accuracy of a fast computational approach to derive FFR from coronary X-ray angiography: results from the international multicenter FAVOR (Functional Assessment by Varios flow Reconstruction) pilot study.
Presenter: Shengxian Tu.

Pressure gradient across coronary stenosis is associated to flow and influenced by obstruction geometry. The QFR (quantitative flow ratio) is a new method to rapidly derive FFR from conventional angiographic images with the help of software. The aim of this study was to assess the accuracy and feasibility of QFR.

Lesions were assess by conventional FFR under maximal hyperemia vs. QFR with contrast and adenosine administration. Mean obstruction extension of lesions was 64%±4.5 and mean FFR was 0.84. QFRc analyzis (QFR contrast) and QFRa (QFR adenosine) revealed high correlation and correspondence to FFR. Areas under the curve were 0.92 and 0.91 for QFR with contrast and adenosine, respectively.

Conclusion
Mean QFR derived from angiography is feasible and has the potential to reduce time, risks and costs in the functional assessment of lesions.
