Cath Lab Management Protocol for the COVID-19 Outbreak

The Interventional Cardiology Association and the Cardiac Beat Association from the Spanish Society of Cardiology have released a document stating all the available information on the COVID-19 outbreak for interventionists to tackle this health crisis to the best of their ability. ” 

Abstract

“During March 2020, the SARS-CoV-2 virus has spread throughout Europe, with special intensity in Italy and Spain. In the face of the emergency created by the Covid-19 outbreak, the vast majority of hemodynamics and electrophysiology rooms have altered their usual activities. They are also faced with performing procedures in patients with a confirmed diagnosis of Covid-19 or with the uncertainty in unconfirmed cases. This manuscript is a consensus of the document Spanish Society of Cardiology Interventional Cardiology Association and the Heart Rhythm Association that aims at providing information to the healthcare professionals of these invasive cardiology facilities (hemodynamics and electrophysiology, pacemakers) to guarantee quality care for patients as well as adequate levels of infection prevention levels.”
