The CHIP LATAM SOLACI Book was published during the SOLACI-CACI 2024 Congress

During the SOLACI-CACI 2024 Congress, the Latin American Society of Interventional Cardiology officially presented the CHIP LATAM SOLACI Book, a manual focused on the study and treatment of complex coronary interventions in high-risk patients in Latin America.

Libro CHIP LATAM SOLACI

This publication represents a highly significant milestone in the field of complex coronary angioplasty, as there are few similar books in the world. The CHIP LATAM SOLACI Book involved the participation of more than 100 authors and opinion leaders from Latin America and the rest of the world, and it was edited by the SOLACI CHIP Group. Without a doubt, in the coming years, it will become one of the reference materials for the study of complex coronary interventions in our continent.

The launch took place during the CHIP SOLACI Department session, held on August 7 in the Buen Ayre A room of the Hilton Hotel Convention Center in Buenos Aires. Dr. Mario Araya, President of SOLACI, led the conference alongside Dr. Aníbal Damonte, Former President of SOLACI, and alongside notable specialists from Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, and the United States, shared and analyzed the Latin American experience in CHIP procedures.

It is noteworthy that the panel included Drs. Luis Dallán (USA), Marcelo Harada Ribeiro (BRA), Franklin Hanna (COL), and Carlos Uribe (COL), editors of the CHIP LATAM SOLACI Book.

During the session, complex CHIP cases were presented, along with a talk on tips and tricks for approaching complex chronic total occlusions. Towards the end, Dr. Araya gave the floor to Dr. Damonte for the official presentation, as this project began during his presidency (2021-2023).

Dr. Damonte appreciated the commitment and work of all the people involved in the production of the book: “It was an extremely ambitious project that was accomplished thanks to everyone’s effort.” He added: “I was very happy when a group of interventionalists wanted to channel their concerns through SOLACI to create the CHIP LATAM department. The department’s activity was extremely successful, and that’s where the idea for the book began.”

In this regard, the former SOLACI president concluded his speech by congratulating the involved editors and asking for a warm round of applause for those present.

The book is available in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. We will share more information soon.
