Ecuador 2020: Young Cardiologists Contest Winner

During the 50th SOLACI Regional Sessions carried out in Manta, Ecuador, on March 6 thru 7, 2020, the traditional Young Cardiologists Case Contest took place, sponsored by ABBOTT VASCULAR. This contest is meant to motivate young interventionists to present their work before prestigious Latin American professionals and, this way, start building experience in the international arena.

In this opportunity, the winner was Dr. Alex Fernando Castro Mejía (with a master’s degree and a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology), from Ecuador. His case was entitled: “TAVR for Pure Severe Aortic Regurgitation in a Patient with Severe Vascular Disease and High Surgical Risk”.

SOLACI congratulates Dr. Mejía for winning the contest and getting free registration, accommodation and air fare to attend the next SOLACI Regional Sessions. SOLACI also congratulates all participants and encourage them to continue to take part in the events to come.
