Tomography vs FFR to identify lesions that cause ischemia

This trial evaluated the characteristics of arteriosclerotic plaques and its association with lesion ischemia by CT angiography (CTA) vs fractional flow reserve (FFR).

FFR is the gold standard to determine lesion ischemia. Despite the fact that atherosclerotic plaque characteristics by CTA, as well as aggregate plaque volume, positive remodeling, low attenuation and calcifications are associated with future acute coronary syndromes, its relationship to ischemia remains unclear. This trial included 252 patients (17 centers and 5 countries) undergoing CTA and FFR in 407 lesions.
